Welcome to HUFS
Come to HUFS Meet the World!
Welcome to the Center for Korean Language and Culture at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
I am sincerely delighted that the much-anticipated Center for Korean Language and Culture, affiliated with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, has finally opened.
I believe that the Center for Korean Language and Culture will become another source of pride for HUFS, a school that already boasts language teaching in 42 different languages of the world. HUFS was founded in 1954, during the aftermath of the Korean War. Despite our relatively short history, HUFS has established a reputation as a prestigious educational institution. We trained our students to become professionals of languages, which allowed them to play decisive roles during Korea's historically famous period of high economic growth.
Furthermore, our graduates have distinguished themselves in various professions all over the world, building a global alumni network. Hence, it can be said that the growth of HUFS reflects the progress of Korea's development, both domestically and internationally. HUFS has already contributed to the globalization of Korea and now we aspire to realize the Koreanization of the world.
The Center for Korean Language and Culture not only offers the opportunity to learn Korean, the world's ninth most-spoken language, but also strives to propagate our Dynamic Korea. Through the education we provide, we wish to concretize the true meaning of globalization, by enabling people from every country of the world to open up and communicate with each other. We welcome scholars who wish to attain their dream of becoming progressive global leaders.

Welcome to the Center for Korean Language and Culture at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
Welcome to Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Korean Culture Education Center.
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies is Korea's leading university with more than 70 years of foreign language education experience since its opening in 1954. Based on this experience, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies opened a Korean language education program for foreigners and overseas Koreans in 1992 and has been teaching Korean to students from dozens of countries around the world for about 20 years.
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies has been training excellent Korean language teachers in undergraduate (Korean language education), general graduate school (Korean language education as a foreign language and Korean language education) and graduate school of education (Korean language education as a foreign language) Based on these human resources and accumulated foreign language education methods, it contributes to the quality improvement of Korean language education. In addition, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies' Korean language education program has been well received by many students by providing education aimed at improving practical communication skills. In order to provide quality Korean language education programs to more learners, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies expanded and reorganized the Korean language education program that was conducted by the Foreign Language Training Institute. On May 23, 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, I was able to establish a cultural education center.
In the future, the Korean Language and Culture Education Center will make good use of all the infrastructure of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies related to Korean language education and provide a higher level of Korean language education program. I will spare no effort to help you learn Korean language and Korean culture well at the Korean Language and Culture Education Center. I look forward to studying happily with us at the Korean Language and Culture Education Center.
Thank you.
